Overview
Greymoon is a strategy game for the TRS-80.
In the Dark Ages of a far distant land, turmoil was rampant and power slid from one hand to the next. You are in the midst of these forsaken tides, and decide to start your own small kingdom. You gather a few advisors along with some merchants, mercenaries, miners, and tillers. After a few days' journey over the Greymoon Mountains, you locate a suitable plot of land, and then proceed to set up a thorp. During this time you discover that this side of the mountains is not much better than the other, for all your new neighbors are groping for land and power also.
This is a turn based text strategy game similar to Hammurabi. The player controls their starting settlement, with the goal to acquire as many acres of land as possible during a set number of turns. The player can claim land from other nations through warfare, and must use their tillers to maintain this land and grow crops. Miners are used to acquire other resources. The player must set the tax rate for their inhabitants, and can use this gold to employ mercenaries, buy commodities, and give donations to the church for good harvests. The player must maintain a military force to steal land from opposing nations and protect their own resources.
