Sonic: Project Revenge

In late 2023, RobiWanKenobi started a Sonic 2 hack with no real goals in mind except to try to make levels. This came after his hack, Sonic Primo was what could be considered, a huge failure; this stems from him over-hyping the project while not managing a quality release.

The hack started as just plain modifications to Sonic 2 zones, after having ported over a bunch of Sonic 3 stuff and release a build to the Sonic Hacking Contest's Level Design Mini-Contest (which had some broken physics, but some otherwise good ideas). After that, he then found the to-be-level-artist Bonnie Bun-Buns; who was making some data select icons for some zone ideas he had. RobiWanKenobi contacted him, and asked if he could make some full-on level art of some of these zone; he said yes.

RobiWanKenobi, MarioFan30 (then known as h.carrell), Hame, and Bonnie Bun-Buns would form the original Revenge Team, with few new members coming in. Over time, the user Toilet Man (now known as Audrey) joined and did the majority of the work to port Blue Spheres over from Sonic 3, before leaving the team in 2025. TomatoWave_0 was briefly a play-tester for S:PR, before leaving to focus on other hacks; HenryD3bby was also on the team for a while before leaving the scene almost entirely.

After The 2024 Sonic Hacking Contest, RobiWanKenobi decided to polish up some old work from Bonnie Bun-Buns to make the new Sonic sprites, after realizing how many hacks had the CartoonAnimates22 Sonic & Tails sprites; RobiWanKenobi then made the Tails sprites, based off of Sonic 3. ToastOnBread would then join as the musician for the game, as the music written by RobiWanKenobi before was not really good.
