Overview
Psychedelic, manufactured by D. Gottlieb & Co., is an electro-mechanical game that captures the "flower power" aesthetic of the late 1960s and early 1970s. Released in August 1970, this one-player game is notable for being one of Gottlieb's early forays into using drop targets, featuring vibrant artwork typical of the era. 1,800 units were produced.
Psychedelic is considered an Italian version of Gottlieb's Crescendo and Groovy (both also 1970). The game features vibrant, "groovy" flower power-style artwork, rather than psychedelic LSD-influenced imagery. While all three share the same playfield layout and artwork, they feature slightly different backglass art to change the scene's camera angle.
