Overview
The Saloon pinball machine, released by Taito do Brasil in 1978, is a rare digital-era table known for its unique "slot machine" scoring mechanics. While Taito do Brasil often produced clones of American tables, Saloon is a distinct part of their early solid-state lineup.
The central feature of Saloon is a central display that functions like a three-reel slot machine, triggering specific prizes when three equal values are rolled:
• 111: Lights the side lanes and upper targets.
• 222: Lights both lower and upper targets.
• 333: Activates all Double Bonus lights.
• 444 / 888: Activates the spinners for the remainder of the current ball.
• 555 / 777 / 999: Lights the "Special" and upper targets.
• The Big Prize: If the central display reaches 888, a large "When Lit" light in the center turns on. Hitting the upper arc rollover at this time awards 20,000 points.
