Solar City

Overview

Released in 1977 by Gottlieb, Solar City is an electromechanical pinball machine known for its "drop target madness", featuring 15 drop targets. Designed by Ed Krynski with artwork by Gordon Morison, it is a two-player, re-themed version of the famous 1975 single-player wedgehead game El Dorado.

Solar City was part of a series of games produced by Gottlieb using the same popular playfield layout (including Target Alpha, Canada Dry, and El Dorado), reflecting the company's tendency to reskin successful layouts in the late 1970s. It is a two-player sibling to the four-player Target Alpha (1976).

Approximately 2,525 to 2,634 units were produced.
