Space Patrol

Overview

Space Patrol (1978) is a rare electro-mechanical pinball machine produced by Taito do Brasil, often operating with digital-style scoring. As one of Taito's earliest releases, it is considered a clone of the Recel "Lady Luck" (1978) table but features unique, customized playfield and backglass artwork. The theme draws inspiration from 1950s space comics.

It is one of the hardest Taito do Brasil tables to find today. This is largely because many of Taito's early machines were destroyed or scrapped when newer microprocessed tables were introduced. The machine's rarity is so high that for many years, no photos of the original playfield existed in the pinball community. Digital recreations have had to rely on a single known picture of the backglass to "re-imagine" the playfield and rules.
