Max-Command

Overview

Max-Command is a strategy war-game for the Apple II.

For the past several months, high level negotiations and diplomatic talks have continued in order to avoid a serious confrontation between two nations. World intelligence sources report that both countries have just broken off diplomatic ties. Increased military buildup near the plains of Alphagorda has now escalated to open conflict and a state of war now exists between the two powers.

A 1-player versus computer or 2-player strategy war game, the player takes control of one nation's military forces in a square grid of randomly placed forests, mountains, lakes, and swamps. Units consist of planes, tank corps, mobile laser artillery, armored infantry, missile batteries, and "The Max-One". Each unit has their own movement radius, firing distance, and terrain allowances. Random weather changes will modify the mobility and firing radius of units every few turns.

Players are awarded points for enemy units destroyed, and games can proceed until a certain score is reached, or until all enemy units are terminated.
