Overview
Cheat Mine is a single player Minesweeper clone. It is played entirely with the mouse and has four difficulty settings, Beginner, Intermediate, Expert and Custom where each difficulty means a larger game area and more mines to find.
The object of the game, as in Windows Minesweeper, is to discover the locations of all the mines. However, as the game's help file makes clear, this is a game for those who enjoy playing Minesweeper and completing the board as fast as possible. To that end this variant has a clock so the player can monitor their time and a high score table that displays the five best times.
As the player exposes the game area they are shown numbers that indicate where the mines are. What gives this game its name, 'Cheat Mine', is the inclusion of settings that make the game cheat, i.e. when enabled not all the numbers displayed will be accurate making the game harder to complete.
