Overview
Counting On Frank: Magic Numbers Game is a single player math/strategy game based on the traditional Tic-Tac-Toe format.
The player and the game take turns to roll a dice, the number they score must be placed in the 3x3 grid. The object of the game is to create a line of three numbers that meet specific criteria:
- Level 1: This level is played on a 3x3 grid, all other levels are played on a 4x4 grid. The object is to complete a line of numbers that add up to nine, the first to do so wins. The strategy element comes from the art of the placing of high numbers because the first to make a row of three numbers add up to more than nine loses.
- Level 2: Here the game is played on a 4x4 grid and players are working with fractions such as 4/6 and .25 rather than the whole numbers in Level 1. The object is to complete a row of four that adds up to two
- Level 3: This is also played on a 4x4 grid, it uses whole numbers and the objective is to place them such that when multiplied together they total twelve.
- Level 4: This is also played the same grid as level 3 and has the same objective, the difference being that the player is working with a combination of whole numbers, negative numbers, fractions and zeroes.
Counting On Frank: Magic Numbers Game is a mini-game taken from Counting On Frank, and can sometimes be found shareware/freeware compilation CDs.. It was made with Macromedia and plays in a small window but the background blocks out the whole screen.
