Pac-Man 8K

Overview

Pac-Man 8K was an attempt by Dintar to make a more arcade accurate version of Pac-man for the 2600 that was as close to the original as possible. Dintar started programming the game in 2007, but stopped in 2008, and then resumed programming in 2013. The most recent version was released in 2018 on the AtariAge forum.

The 8k in the game's title refers to the size of the game's rom.

This version of Pac-Man is completely unrelated to Pac-Man 4K, which was programmed by Dennis Debro and released in 2008.

Dintar also released a 4K Pac-Man based on Pac-Man 8K titled New Pac-Man 4K.
