Overview
Balls from Hell casts the player as the pinball itself in a surreal first-person pinball environment, with the implied challenge of navigating a playfield filled with hazards and targets. Players aim to land ball strikes and interactions to score points and complete objectives tied to the pinball setup.
The core experience is a first-person take on pinball: the player directly controls the pinball rather than paddles, moving through a three-dimensional table space rendered from the ball’s point of view. Players hit table elements to score points and avoid falling into the drain. Unlike traditional pinball, there are no paddles, and a gun can be used to shoot robots for additional points. Pressing the spacebar adds momentum to the ball.
The game includes multiple variants: a standard pinball mode; an action mode with speed control using cursor keys and no bumpers; and a supersonic mode, which features automatic view-panning and enhanced speed control.
