Overview
Revenge of the Mutant Miners is a Coco 3 only arcade game, loosely based on the cross platform smash Miner 2049er, but with original level designs and a few quirks of it's own.
The goal on each level is fill in the gridwork until it is all solid white, which you do by running over them (please note: if you jump to get a bonus point object, jump up a platform, etc., it will not fill in while you are in the air). The 2nd Level 0 screenshot above shows the bottom row and most of the next row up filled in. There are various bonus items that you can get - hearts (free life), shovels, picks and lanterns.
You can run, climb ladders and jump - although you can only jump so far downwards before you die. There are also the mutants, that cycle through blue and brown colors when they can kill you, but if you grab a piece of uraniumite (the pulsing orange circles), it acts similarly to a power pellet in Pac Man, and then they change to a cyan color where you can kill them (the higher difficulty levels you start at or get to, the shorter this amount of time when you can kill them is). On later screens, springboards and transporters also get added to the mix, which are needed to get to certain areas. Also in later levels, you have to plan ahead to do things in a certain order, or you won't be able to complete the level. A cute part is that Level 8 spells "JR". A nice fun game with some non-overbearing arcade action with some puzzle elements thrown in for good measure, and good digital sound effects.
