Overview
Released the same year as its predecessor, BattleStar 2 works differently from it. What remains unchanged is the movement mechanics inspired by Asteroids: the spaceship can be rotated left and right, and movement can be initiated either forward or backward. Once in motion, the ship is governed by inertia.
To acquire new weapons and additional energy, players must visit planets that occasionally appear in the levels. When a planet is encountered, the view switches the game to a first-person view, where the player controls a reticle to destroy as many approaching spaceships as possible before time runs out.
The objective of each level is to destroy the BattleStar flying through the stage.
