Overview
Released by Game Plan Inc. in 1978, Chuck-A-Luck is a cocktail-style pinball machine featuring a distinctive roulette wheel at the center of its playfield. Designed by Ed Cebula with artwork by Paul Loreli, the game includes two flippers, two pop bumpers, and two spinning targets.
Chuck-A-Luck was originally developed under the name "Real", themed after the Real cigarette brand. After poor test marketing results, the licensing deal was cancelled. Game Plan recycled the hardware and playfields for Chuck-A-Luck by using factory-applied stickers to cover the original "Real" cigarette-themed artwork, adding a "Chuck-A-Luck" flag and removing cigarette imagery from the design.
