NOIZ Invaders

NOIZ Invaders by Spike the Percussionist is a revamp of Atari's 1980 classic Space Invaders with original artwork by Justin Scarborough. Spike takes the framework and pushes it into new territory. More than a graphical facelift, this is a personal remix: the alien horde has been reimagined as symbols from Spike’s favorite bands (Einsturzende Neubauten, Psychic TV, WHITEHOUSE, Coil, Astrogenic Hallucinauting, The Residents), and the player ship draws inspiration from a design in his upcoming original game.

Visual updates are everywhere:

– A bold new color scheme

– Player ship changes color as it moves

– Missiles and UFOs now glow

– Shields react to invader movement

– Score flashes with each hit

– New explosion animations and sound effects round out the overhaul

The result is a distinctive take on a well-worn favorite that feels familiar, but hits different!
