Donkey Kong Arcade

Donkey Kong Arcade is a remake of Donkey Kong programmed in Batari Basic. Mike Haas and Byte Knight announced the game in 2014, and posted playable demos of the game throughout the next year as it was developed. Haas has stated that he was inspired to create the game in order to prove that Batari Basic could be used to make high quality games.

When the game was nearing completion Haas stated that he planned for the full game to be released on cartridge and published through AtariAge, and he later contemplated selling digital ROMs of the game because of production delays, but neither of these plans came to fruition, and the game didn't recieve a full release at the time.

In 2019 Haas returned to the AtariAge forums and posted the last build of the game, Release Candidate 1. At the time Haas stated that he was still open to any suggestions for improvements, and that he was still hoping for a future cartridge release, but the game has had no further releases.
