Overview
Nightmare is widely considered the most challenging and atmospheric table in the classic 1992 pinball simulation game Pinball Dreams, developed by Digital Illusions. It is the fourth and final table in the set. Although listed as "Nightmare" in the menu, the playfield itself says "Graveyard." This inconsistency was addressed in some later ports, such as the Game Boy version, which renamed the table in the menu as "Graveyard".
The table is themed around a graveyard, ghosts, demons, and evil occurrences. It features dark, Gothic-inspired artwork with crosses, tombs, and eerie visuals, and it is known for having a very steep table design, making it difficult to keep the ball from moving quickly. The layout and some rules of this table are based on Williams' Terminator 2: Judgment Day pinball machine released a year earlier.
The table is celebrated for having some of the best, most atmospheric music on the Amiga.
A 3D version for the Future Pinball platform was created by users Slash2084, Sebek74, Jerry Winter, and IamMrBongo.
