Overview
Released in May 1978, Camel Lights is a solid-state cocktail-style pinball machine manufactured by Game Plan, Inc.. Unlike standard upright machines, it features a horizontal cabinet meant to be sat around like a table. The table is equipped with 2 flippers, 2 pop bumpers, and spinners. Notably, it lacks ramps, multiball, or drop targets.
Camel Lights was part of Game Plan's "Model 110" series. This model featured a unique interchangeable playfield strategy: the same base cabinet and electronic layout were sold under several different themes to save on production costs, especially when specific themes didn't meet sales expectations.
Other machines that shared this exact playfield layout included Rio, Black Velvet, Real, Foxy Lady, and Chuck-A-Luck. Because it was produced for a specific cigarette brand theme, it is considered a rare find for collectors today.
