Eros One

Overview

Eros One is a rare, solid-state cocktail table pinball machine released in March 1979 by Fascination Int.. Built primarily using Allied Leisure components, this Greek Mythology-themed machine brought a tabletop experience to bars and lounges during the late-1970s arcade boom. With only an estimated 962 units produced, working copies of this table are exceptionally scarce collector's items today.

The underlying engineering of the machine is deeply intertwined with Allied Leisure Industries, as the title is functionally identical to their 1978 release, Flame of Athens. It operates on the Allied Leisure System 3 logic board, driven by a 6504 microprocessor that manages the software ruleset, digital displays, and playfield lights.

The physical cabinet configuration is built around a compact, low-profile cocktail table structure, allowing players to sit or stand over the glass top. The design features classic Greco-Roman artwork by R. Michael Torrey silk-screened onto the cabinet and plastics.

The layout of the playfield contains two flippers, three pop bumpers, two slingshots, four drop targets, and three standup targets. Notably, the layout completely lacks traditional in-lanes, forcing players to rely on raw reaction speed and drop catches to keep the ball from prematurely draining down the side outlanes.
