Overview
This previously unreleased game offers thrilling tennis action with a variety of strange and unusual ways to play. Take on tournaments, single challenge matches, a full world tour — or Crazy Tennis for the ultimate challenge. This game would go through a few changes and eventually become the officially licensed Pete Sampras Tennis game.
Tennis All Stars was developed by Codemasters for the Sega Genesis, but the game was shelved and reworked into Pete Sampras Tennis when Codemasters acquired the rights to the athlete's name.
In 2021 Blaze Entertainment released Codemasters Collection 1 for the Evercade, which was a collection of NES and Genesis titles released by Codemasters. Having lost the rights to Sampras's name, Pete Sampras Tennis couldn't be included. Instead Blaze Entertainment included the Tennis All Stars prototype as a previously unreleased game.
Although there are similarities between Tennis All Stars and Pete Sampreas Tennis, there are also noticable differences, and officially they were released as two distinct games.
