Overview
Big Guns is a medieval space themed pinball machine from October 1987, manufactured by Williams Electronic Games, Inc. It is best known for being the first table to feature catapults, though due to the plastic covers that house them, they resemble cannons.
The table was recreated for Future Pinball by ROM, D Struct, and Francisco666, and then modded by SLAMT1LT who released both ULTRA and ULTIMATE editions. Unlike many other SLAMT1LT releases, Big Guns remains very true to the original machine and adds little in the way of obvious enhancements, other than small tweaks to the Future Pinball physics, mechanical sounds, and scripting.
An updated version of SLAMT1LT's ULTIMATE Edition was released by NitroNimbus under the title of MOD 2.0, and this adjusts the physics, adds a DMD, and plays "War" by Edwin Starr during gameplay.
A lot of the assets from this table were used by 32assassin for his Visual Pinball X recreation of Big Guns.
