Overview
Centaur II is a remake from June 1983 of the classic 1981 game Centaur. It has exactly the same playfield layout and features that made Centaur unique: 5-ball Multiball, speech with echo and a captive ball that can hit four in-line drop targets.
The only difference between Centaur and Centaur II is in the shape of the game: Centaur II has a different type of backbox and a smaller backglass. This is because Centaur II was made from leftover cabinets from Rapid Fire, a shooting game that didn't sell as well as Bally had anticipated. Bally produced 1,550 units of Centaur II.
