Super Mario's Wacky Worlds SD

Overview

Super Mario's Wacky Worlds was originally an unreleased Mario game developed by NovaLogic for the Philips CD-i in the early 1990s. Intended as a successor to Super Mario World, the project was eventually canceled before completion.

Years later, ROM hacker figuiDOS recreated the game as a Super Mario World hack for the SNES, inspired by the surviving CD-i prototype.

Instead of taking place in the Mushroom Kingdom, Mario travels through worlds inspired by real-world locations and historical eras, including Ancient Egypt, Ancient Greece, medieval castles, the Arctic, and South American jungles.

The hack aims to recreate the original vision of exploring these "Wacky Worlds" while using the gameplay and engine of Super Mario World. It features MSU-1 support, providing enhanced CD-quality music throughout the adventure.
