Overview
Bomb Zone is a science fiction action game in which the player battles waves of hostile killer drones inside a hazardous arena filled with explosive bombs. The objective is to survive each stage by eliminating every drone before advancing to the next.
The game is played from a fixed top-down perspective. Each stage contains several bombs already scattered around the arena, with additional bombs appearing over time. Rather than attacking enemies directly, the player shoots the bombs to trigger explosions that destroy nearby drones. Explosions leave permanent craters that block movement for the player and most enemies, gradually changing the layout of the arena throughout the level.
Bombs also detonate automatically after a delay, with their colour indicating how close they are to exploding. The player has access to a temporary force field that provides protection from enemy collisions and projectiles, although repeated use reduces the score. Enemy projectiles can also be reflected if fired directly at a drone, requiring careful timing and positioning. As the game progresses, new enemy types appear and movement speeds increase, making later stages more difficult.
