Trail Drive

Overview

Trail Drive is a single-player electromechanical table released in September 1970. Designed by Ted Zale with artwork by Christian Marche, the game features a Wild West theme and an animated backglass focused on a cowboy defending a cattle herd from a wildcat. When a ball enters either of the game's two kick-out saucers, a mechanical cowpuncher rises up and "fires" his gun, causing the wildcat in the backglass to physically spin.

Bally only produced 1,305 units of Trail Drive, yet it remains a popular machine, largely due to its backglass and easy to understand rules.
