John Wick

John Wick is a pinball machine released by Stern Pinball in mid-2024. It marks the first game designed by Elliot Eismin, who had previously worked as a mechanical engineer for the company.

Based on the first four John Wick films, the player is tasked with fulfilling jobs for seven different factions in the criminal underworld. Enemies appear frequently, moving around the playfield dynamically in response to the player's actions. They can be taken out with a single shot (with the display screen showing a clip of Wick killing the same number of mooks), but it may be advantageous to let them build up for the added Score Multiplier. Defeating enough of them will let you fight one of five adversaries in a much more involved battle. On the flip side, earning enough gold coins will net you allies that can change enemies' positions on the playfield. Completing enough jobs, adversary fights, and multiball modes will let you take on two mini-Wizard Modes before finally getting a "Special Assignment."

As with most Stern games from The New '10s onward, John Wick has three different versions. The Pro version is the most basic and least expensive model, lacking or simplifying toys and mechanics available in the higher-tier editions. The Premium version has all the major extra features: a moving muscle car (associated with a set of multiball modes), proper models for the blood marker and weapon briefcases on the playfield, a drop target entrance to the Red Circle area, and a physical ball lock for Deconsecrated Multiball. The 1,000 Limited Editions add even more aesthetic embellishments, such as a shaker motor, powder-coated armor for the cabinet's sides and legs, and better-quality speakers. (They also come with pieces of suits used for John Wick during production of the original films.)

All models come with Stern's Insider Connected functionality built-in — alongside the usual achievements and score tracking, the player can level up by playing well and earning "Wick Points." Finally, among other official add-ons, a topper with a working hourglass will allow access to the special mode "Tick Tock, Mr. Wick."
