Overview
Big Kick, released by Sega Enterprises in 1977, is a solid-state, single-player dancing-themed game with a novel spinning disc feature.
The direction of rotation of the spinning disc in the center playfield can be changed by pressing a flipper button or by hitting the standup targets. This disc is covered with a cloth material that reduces the speed of the ball. When a ball is kept on the spinning disc for ten seconds, a nearby light blinks and the player receives an award of 100,000 points.
However, the game programming doesn't know the ball is actually on the spinning disc because the disc has no sensors on it. Reportedly, all that is required is that the ball not score any points for ten seconds and that the player not activate the flippers during that time, and the 100,000 points will be awarded.
