Retro Game Quest

Oh no! Ghosts have strewn John’s 8 rarest carts across the kingdom! Don your beanie copter and put the games back into their respective consoles. You must accomplish this before the magic timer fills up to 41.

Controls

Set either difficulty switch to A to disable arrows that guide you to the target console. A cart will appear over John’s head in the games mode select screen.

Press FIRE or just wait to enter the game select screen

Game Modes

GAME MODE 1 is a smaller overworld with each cart always a few screens below its respective console.

GAME MODE 2 is a lager overworld with carts and consoles in varied locations. More blue maze rooms.

GAME MODE 3 is a slightly more randomized version of the GAME MODE 2 overworld.

Use the joystick to maneuver around the kingdom. Note the beanie copter will randomly move John at intervals.

When the magic timer display turns purple John can press FIRE to fly past walls and navigate water faster.

8 carts are scattered across the overworld. They may not be dropped after picking them up.

8 consoles with open cartridge slots exist in the overworld. Each will accept one cart in particular then close its lid.

You win if all 8 carts are placed in their respective consoles. If the magic timer counts up past 41 the game is over.

3 ghosts haunt the land. Each has slightly different patterns. All of them attempt to capture John and drop him at a random location.

John can hold one cart at a time. Each cart has its own console that it must be placed into. On easy mode arrows will appear between rooms to guide you.

SECRET EXPLORER MODE

Press and hold DOWN in the game select screen until Johns head glows. This will place the game in invincibility mode with the timer replaced with world coordinates. Great for mapping out the overworld!
