The game take place 10 years after METAL GEAR SOLID 3: Snake Eater. Amidst the swirling conspiracies behind the East-West Cold War, Snake confronts them while leading a private military force. This is the story of how one soldier, “Snake”, becomes “Big Boss”.
THE ILLUSION OF PEACE FALTERS
In 1964, after saving the world from all-out nuclear war, Naked Snake, a true hero, receives the name Big Boss, but he disappears shortly after the naming ceremony.
Ten years later, Big Boss is running an independent military unit in Columbia, when he is visited by two individuals from Costa Rica, a country without a military.
In a post-Cuban Missile Crisis world, and in a Central America essential to maintaining the power balance between East and West, Costa Rica has been miraculously able to maintain peace.
However, a mysterious armed group has been seen acting suspiciously throughout the region. They request Big Boss to investigate and eliminate the armed group. Though he hesitates to accept the request because the tape they brought contained the voice of The Boss, who was supposed to be dead.
This title offers not only thrilling solo infiltration missions but also co-op with “SENYU” via online connections, and competitive multiplayer for up to six players. The offshore facility Mother Base supports your missions. It houses staff living quarters, development labs for mission weapons and gear, storage for captured large-scale weapons, and more. Expanding your staff allows Mother Base to grow and develop, incorporating simulation elements.
The Screenplay Book containing in-game text from Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker and the Master Book detailing the story and characters are also included within the game.
