Lady Bug (opcode)

Opcode Games arcade-perfect port of Universal's 1981 maze-chase classic Lady Bug, originally a ColecoVision launch title. This SGM-enhanced version restores arcade-accurate graphics, sound, and the missing "special" bonus rounds that were trimmed from the original Coleco 1982 release.

Lady Bug is a top-down maze-chase game in which the player guides a ladybug through a labyrinth while avoiding hostile insects. The objective of each stage is to collect all of the flowers, hearts, and letter icons scattered throughout the maze. Contact with an enemy or a poison skull costs a life.

The maze contains numerous rotating gates that change orientation whenever the ladybug passes through them. These gates open one route while closing another, allowing the player to redirect pursuers, create escape paths, or temporarily trap enemies. The hostile insects cannot operate the gates themselves, making careful manipulation of the maze central to survival.
