The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap: Definitive Edition

A QoL and difficulty selection hack for TLOZ: Minish Cap.

Features:

QUICK SWAP ITEMS:

“Item-Wheel” style selection with L/R + D-pad and other buttons:

L: Boomerang, Gust Jar, Pegasus Boots, Cane of Pacci, Sword, Shield. R: Roc’s Cape, Lantern, Mole Mitts, Bow, Bombs, Ocarina.

L+R toggles whether it equips to A or B.

START while Quick Swap is open → Help. SELECT while Quick Swap is open → Talk to Ezlo.

Equipping items via the inventory still works if you don’t want to use the Quick Swap feature.

DIFFICULTY OPTIONS:

* Normal / Hard / Hero difficulty selection added to the Options screen.

* Hard: 2× incoming damage, reduced sword damage (-1)

* Hero: 3× incoming damage, further reduced sword damage (-2), no normal heart drops. Game Over returns you with full health, to make new heart containers useful.

* Both Hard and Hero difficulties keep the damage for other items, encouraging the player to try other strategies besides only using the sword.

* Difficulty can be changed at any time in the file selection screen.

LARGER WALLETS

* Wallet capacities increased to 1000 / 3000 / 5000 / 9999, with a proper 4-digit rupee HUD.

SHELLS AND FIGURINES RE-BALANCE

* Shell capacity increased to 9999;

* Normal shell pickups are worth 5×, and the Hyrule Town shop sells 300 shells instead of 30.

* Figurine RNG rolls three times and keeps the lowest result, greatly improving new-figurine odds, but still having a chance of missing from time to time, keeping the original spirit of the mini-game alive.

* Figurine machine egg drop and cracking animations are essentially instantaneous.

OTHER QOL FEATURES

* SELECT opens up the map directly, while START opens the inventory.

* Can use B to quit the pause/map screen.

* Low-health warning beep removed.

* Added a “RESET” button on the pause screen to easily save and return to the title screen.

* Din, Nayru and Farore charms last 5 minutes instead of 1.

* All fairies heal 12 hearts, including bottled, auto-revive and world-touch fairies.

* Improved heart HUD graphics/contrast, making it easier to see your current health.

* Full support for both USA and European versions.
