Overview
RyGuy417's Foo Fighters table for Visual Pinball X (VPX) is a tribute to Stern's 2023 physical machine of the same name. As it is not yet possible to emulate the rom files from recent Stern machines in VPinMAME and VPX, table developers can either attempt to recreate the table rules by manually coding them, or by modding an existing digital table and rom file.
JP Salas has attempted to recreate the rules of Stern's rom (albeit on a simplified basis) with his JP's Foo Fighters, whereas RyGuy417 has taken the second path. His table is a mod of a digital table. It re-skins Darthwhat's Foo Fighters table, which was itself based on a recreation of Rush (Stern, 2022), resulting in a game that looks like Stern's Foo Fighters table, but plays more like a simplified version of Stern's Rush table.
Throw in a PuP pack that functions like a music video player, and fans of the band will have a great time with this one, despite it being a tribute table rather than a direct recreation of Stern's Foo Fighters machine.
