Official Xbox Magazine: Volume 61: September 2006

Official Xbox Magazine (OXM) Demo Disc #61 was released alongside Issue 61 of the magazine in August 2006 (bearing the cover date of September 2006). Following the 360-exclusive Disc #60, Disc #61 marked a return to the dual-partition hybrid format to ensure original Xbox owners could still boot the disc. The interactive playable game section featured original Xbox titles across sci-fi action, high-speed destruction racing, and sports simulation:

Rogue Trooper (tactical third-person sci-fi shooter)

FlatOut 2 (high-speed demolition and arcade racing)

Madden NFL 07 (gridiron football simulation)

NCAA Football 07 (college football simulation)

While the interactive demos ran original Xbox code (playable on Xbox 360 via backward compatibility), the disc dedicated a massive portion of its storage to Xbox 360 HD media and system updates. Highlights included high-definition 720p/1080i video previews for fall 2006 titles like Saints Row, Dead Rising, Gears of War, and Rainbow Six: Vegas, along with downloadable Xbox 360 gamerpics, themes, offline backward-compatibility updates, and OXM's monthly Top Plays segment.
