Overview

Alarm für Cobra 11: Nitro is an action-oriented racing game based on the German TV series Alarm für Cobra 11. It utilizes the main features of the source material: policemen drive on freeways, hunt criminals and cause everything to explode what they touch. The campaign consists of 25 missions (+ 2 bonus missions) which are arranged in a linear way. The goal is mostly to win a race against time respectively other cars or to catch a criminal by crashing his car. Sometimes there are also checkpoint races, e.g. to diffuse bombs or to check banks which are potential goals for a robbery. The story is only told in texts before the missions. The player spends most of his time on freeways but sometimes the missions take place in a city which results in the need to do turns. Before every mission the player also can choose one of four difficulty levels which gives additional or harder mission requirements which have to be fulfilled to win it, e.g. a time or car damage limit. Depending on the difficulty level the player unlocks new cars and courses for the single races and multiplayer mode; overall about 15 cars and 35 courses. These don't represent the playing modes of the campaign but are always regular races.
