Overview

Omega Orb is an arcade game with puzzle elements for the BBC Micro and Electron. Blip, the bouncing salesdroid, has been transported to the planet Mynix, a vast high-tech mining complex run by droids. To escape, Blip must explore the many interconnected rooms of the complex, and recover 12 vital pieces of material to replace the energy core of its ship. Blip can bounce to the left and right, and can bounce slightly higher when commanded. Blip can also shoot a laser a short distance. The player earns five credits for each droid destroyed, and some rooms have droid generators to destroy. It costs 75 credits to operate lifts and 100 credits to access computer cubicles. At cubicles the player can see how many core pieces they have collected, the percent of the game world explored, ask for help, purchase or sell a life, be shown a map of the complex, receive or input a passcode, or teleport. The player starts with five lives.
