Overview
Worms 2 is a sequel to the 1995 artillery game Worms and is powered by a newer engine. The main gameplay has not changed, and the purpose of the game is the same as before: exterminate the army of worms of the opposing team(s).
The worms are now represented by larger and more animated sprites, which would define the franchise's visual identity in eventual future releases. The maps are more varied, they use a more elaborate random generator, and the terrain deformation is considerably more detailed. A large number of new and more varied weapons is available such as Dragon Ball hits, super banana bombs, and literal carpet bombs to name a few. The game features hot seat, LAN and online multiplayer options by default, as well as options for weapons and general gameplay settings, and the ability to add custom voice banks for the worms themselves.
