Appleseed EX

Overview

Appleseed EX is a third-person action game based on the 2004 film of the same name, along with the manga of the same name by Masamune Shirow.

The plot builds, but expands on the existing lore. It introduces new levels, plots, enemy characters, and a mecha that is new for this game. The director Aramaki himself, who is also a mechanical designer for the game, has drawn a number of new environments, enemy mechanics, and weapons. There is a large number of weapons available in the game and the gameplay is fast-paced, often facing multiple enemies in a small environment with a mix between melee and ranged combat. An inventory is used to switch between weapons.

The game contains original cutscenes that can only be seen in the game, which were created by the movie staff, including director Shinji Aramaki. The imaging was developed by Aramaki and Digital Frontier.
