Half-Life: Blue Shift

Blue Shift is the second expansion pack for Half-Life, this time a standalone product. The player returns to the Black Mesa complex, this time as Barney Calhoun, a security officer working Blue Shift who is present at the facility at the same time as Gordon Freeman. His goal is to try to get out of Black Mesa alive in a storyline that occurs concurrently with that of the base game. Unlike Opposing Force, it does not bring new weapons and only has a singleplayer mode. A key difference is the absence of the HEV suit and its chargers, with Calhoun instead needing armor vest and helmet pickups to keep his armor up.

Blue Shift also includes the Half-Life High Definition Pack that replaces most of the Half-Life/Opposing Force/Blue Shift player and weapon models and textures with updated high-res models and textures.
