Overview
EVE Online is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game set in a distant galaxy where players pilot customizable ships and shape a persistent universe through exploration, combat, trade, and politics.
Gameplay is primarily centered on space travel and interaction with other players or computer-controlled entities. Ships can be equipped for a wide range of activities: mining asteroids for resources, hauling goods between trade hubs, manufacturing modules and ships, engaging in piracy, or battling hostile factions. Combat includes both player-versus-environment encounters against pirates and player-versus-player conflicts ranging from small skirmishes to galaxy-spanning wars. Territorial control is a major aspect of the game, as corporations and alliances capture and defend star systems, often resulting in complex political rivalries.
