Overview

Baseball is a 1 or 2 player sports game for the Atari 400/800. A 1-player versus computer or 2 player sports baseball game, where the blue and red team compete. All gameplay occurs from a top down perspective. During the pitching phase, the player uses the joystick to select 3 speeds of pitch, as well as a curve to the left, right, or straight. The player can throw balls or strikes. The player individually controls their outfielders, who must return retrieved balls. The batting player has the option of attempting to steal bases, and can bunt. There are 2 modes of difficulty, little and major league, and a complete game takes 9 innings. The game was only released in cartridge format despite cassette and floppy disk versions being announced.
