Moon Patrol

Moon Patrol is a side-scrolling action game in which the player controls a lunar patrol vehicle assigned to Sector Nine, a hazardous region of the Moon. The buggy travels continuously from left to right, while the player can accelerate, decelerate, jump, and fire its weapons. Pressing the fire button simultaneously launches one shot forward at ground-level obstacles and another upward at airborne enemies.

The lunar surface is filled with craters, land mines, rocks, tanks, rolling boulders, hostile vehicles, and other hazards. Rocks and many ground-based enemies can be destroyed or jumped over, while pits and mines must be cleared with carefully timed leaps. The buggy jumps farther while traveling at higher speeds, making speed control important when confronting closely spaced obstacles.
