Overview

Lost Empire is the first game in the Lost Empire series. The game is set in a galaxy with a long history. Once an alliance of multiple alien races rules a large part of the galaxy. Then humans came and conquered their worlds and space. This was not to the satisfaction of the crazy deity Enais. Thus Enais intervened and made sure that every race was returned to their home planet. In this 4X space strategy game, the player takes on the role of the leader of one of seven different races. Each race has its typical characteristics. Humans as usual are the best all-round race. The Horde has power in its large number of units. The Alkiths prefer stealth, the Crystal Spirits live inside crystals and the Chi Lung are a race of dragons. Like in other 4X games it's up to the player to explore the galaxy, expand his empire, exploit resources and exterminate any opposition. Food, minerals and population are the resources in this game. Food is required for maintenance, minerals for constructing new units and population for researching new technologies. New technologies bring a variety of upgrades such as better hulls, radars, weaponry and stealth generators, but also improvements to ground troops, economy and culture. It is also possible to find certain planets where the "Path of Enais" grants the player an immediate boost in technology. Diplomacy is based on 'Goodwill', which is generated each turn. The amount of Goodwill determines which diplomatic actions you can perform. When it gets to fighting the battles are resolved automatically. For space fights it's possible to see a movie of the battle.
