Overview
Super Street Fighter II Turbo is a single-player and two-player versus fighting game. The game continues the international martial arts tournament structure of Street Fighter II, with fighters from around the world competing for their own reasons. Each character has a brief personal motivation and ending, but the main structure centers on one-on-one battles against the rest of the roster. In single-player mode, the selected fighter faces a sequence of computer-controlled opponents before reaching the final battles, while two-player mode allows two human players to fight directly.
The main roster consists of the sixteen fighters from Super Street Fighter II. Returning characters include the original World Warriors, the four boss characters, and the four fighters introduced in the previous version: Cammy, Dee Jay, Fei Long, and T. Hawk. The game also introduces Akuma, known as Gouki in Japan, as a hidden opponent and secret playable character. Under specific conditions, Akuma interrupts the final boss sequence and challenges the player.
