Batman Returns

Batman Returns is an adventure game set during a harsh winter in Gotham City, where rising street crime coincides with the emergence of Oswald Cobblepot, known as the Penguin.

As the Penguin’s influence spreads and his public ambitions grow, Batman is called upon to investigate criminal activity, disrupt enemy operations, and uncover evidence to stop the Penguin’s rise to power before he can be elected mayor.

The player controls Batman as he moves between locations, gathers clues, interrogates suspects, and analyzes evidence using the Batcave computer. Information gained through investigations and media broadcasts helps determine where to travel next in order to uncover new leads.

Combat is presented through fighting sequences that require puzzle solving rather than reflexes where the player manages Batman’s utility belt, selecting weapons suited to different opponents and combat situations.

Gameplay is structured over several in-game days, with the player deciding when each day ends. Progression requires collecting sufficient evidence within this timeframe to prevent the Penguin’s political takeover.
