Age of Empires II HD: The African Kingdoms is an expansion pack for the real-time strategy game Age of Empires II: HD Edition. It is the third expansion to Age of Empires II: The Age of Kings which, like The Forgotten, is exclusive to the HD Edition of the game. The expansion pack was once again created by the Forgotten Empires team, with the assistance of Skybox Labs. It introduces four new civilizations (the Berbers, Malians, Ethiopians and Portuguese), four new fully voiced campaigns, new units, new technologies, new Sudden Death mode, new maps, new terrains, scenario editor objects, improved AI, hard counter system in naval warfare and other tweaks to gameplay.
