Overview

Naval Battle of Tsushima is a strategy game developed by Avalon Hill and published by Avalon Hill in 1984 for the Apple II. The Japanese combined fleet and the Russian Baltic Fleet, sent over from Europe, fought in the straits between Korea and Japan near the island of Tsushima. The Battle of Tsushima (in Japan, it is called the "Sea of Japan Naval Battle") was the decisive sea battle of the Russo-Japanese war of 1904-1905. In this battle the Japanese fleet under Admiral Heihachiro Togo destroyed 2/3 of the Russian fleet under Admiral Zinovi Petrovich Rozhdestvenski. You take the side of one of these commanders and see how well you fare in the same situation. This is a "what if" game of tyring different strategies to effect the outcome. The game is run in turns with the computer handling weather and executing your orders.
