Overview

Hardwood Spades is a simulation of classic Spades playable in single-player, or online multiplayer. Following the rules of classic Spades, each player has a partner, and each team bets on how many tricks (a play of four cards, one from each player) they can take per hand. The winner of a trick is determined by the value of the highest card played, with spade cards trumping the value of cards of other suits. Rule variants are available when setting up a new game, including Cutthroat, Suicide and Mirrors. Each player can also individually set appearance options, like background and deck art. As with the other Hardwood games, players can use animated "Fooms" to express emotions (from gratitude to taunting) to other players. The Xbox360 version also includes Avatar support.
