Overview

The Britt Allcroft Company's Thomas & Friends: The Great Festival Adventure is based on the television series Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends, which itself is based on The Railway Series of books by the Rev. W. Awdry. This 3D adventure features seven engaging activities and new video sequences of Thomas and his railway friends. Today is Festival Day on the Island of Sodor, and there is much to be done to prepare for the fun. Sir Topham Hatt needs Thomas and his friends' help to get everything ready in time. Don't worry about getting confused, throughout the game Sir Topham Hatt will always be available (standing in the corner of your screen) to answer questions and give advice. Your journey begins in the Engine Shed. Here you will prepare Thomas, and the other engines Percy and Gordon for the long day ahead. You can pick-up and use items such as a sponge, wrench, oilcan, and a bucket of coal to tighten bolts, oil the engines, and load-up on coal. You can travel all around the island with Thomas. He needs your help unloading packages from Bulstrode the Barge at the harbor, picking up passengers with Annie and Clarabel, the passenger cars, at the station and building fairground rides with Harold the Helicopter at the Festival Grounds. There will also be problems to solve, such as clearing a rockslide, rounding up escaped cows with Terence the Tractor and more. As you successfully complete each activity you will receive a Certificate of Completion. You can view these certificates in Sir Topham Hatt's office, as well as "postcards" on his wall that are snapshots from the Festival. Certificates and postcards can be printed off in color! At the end of your journey you will be rewarded for your hard work. At the Festival you can listen to music and even direct the band to make music of your own. Instruments you can play include piano, guitar, xylophone, drums, maracas, and more.
