Overview
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 HD (S2HD) is an ambitious fangame begun by a group of people who wanted to create a remake of Sonic the Hedgehog 2, with high definition (HD) graphics and remixed music while strictly preserving the original gameplay (which continues to set standards to this day). The scope of S2HD has increased since it's inception (originally intended as a straight vector redraw of the original shapes and colours), with artists and animators taking liberties with additional detail, animations, effects, and storytelling elements.
