Overview
Pro Mahjong Kiwame S is a 4-player riichi mahjong game and part of Athena's long-running Pro Mahjong Kiwame series. As is standard for the series, it features the endorsement of the Japan Professional Mahjong League and includes the likenesses of 16 professional mahjong players. The main arcade mode gives the player a choice of four different routes throughout Japan. Each stage on a route involves a match against specific real-life pro players, and the player must earn a set number of points in order to proceed to the next stage. The Saturn home version of the game adds a free match mode, a mahjong quiz mode, and an "analysis" mode where the player must select the correct moves for certain situations.
